Thank you to Elmsett Airfield for hosting an excellent show yesterday. The many people that were there, and particularly the ones that I spoke to, thoroughly enjoyed it. Special thanks for a brilliant day to Nigel Willson, Duncan Skeels, Mick Poynton and the Fire Crew, and all of the Organisers for taking the time and considerable effort to put on such a smooth show.

Events, in order, were:-
Breakfast Patrol with successful 'attackers' winning a free nosh up.
Flour bombing with an ornate trophy for the winners.
Airshow consisting of a Pitts S2, Yak 52/ Chipmunk duo flown by Nigel Willson/Ian Davies respectively.
Parachuting Teddies (Picture explains all!!)

I was one of the Anglia Flight Pilots under the very capable Leadership of Dale Featherby. We took four aircraft down from Norwich, two 150 Aerobats, a Cherokee and a Yak 52.

Winners were:-
Breakfast Patrol -- Anglia Flight (Four aircraft, thanks to Dale's military brief and tactics).
Flour Bombing -- Anglia Flight (Dale and Andrea Featherby)
Parachuting Bears -- Elmsett Flying Club "Ted Devil"

A really enjoyable day, many thanks to all concerned.

Also briefly, congratulations are in order to Bee Bee for passing her Qualifying Cross-Country, well done young lady and the very best of luck with your forthcoming skills test..
Photo credits are to Bee Bee also..

Some pics of the day...............

Sounds like fun, wish I could have been there but you can't be everywhere at once and I'd already promised to be elsewhere.

How the heck does one go about winning the breakfast patrol anyway? How close do you have to get without being spotted, I mean od you have to pop out from behind the trees?

Ha Ha!!!! We know what you are getting at there!!!

Seriously tho, we won fair and square - arriving in the overhead without our reg numbers being noted by the 'defending' aircraft. That's not to say we weren't spotted because we were but, in the case of one particular 'attacking' aircraft (who's crew will remain nameless), during the ensuing chase and 'dogfight' our reg's remained unread.

Jolly good fun....

Nigel Willson and Debbie Leggett were the defenders in that little skirmish though :diablo:
