As a beginner, flying a 747 long distance probably isn't advisable. But take a look for tutorials on FlightSim.com and Avsim.com, which even has files for download in its file library, intended for new virtual pilots.

MAy I also suggest that a worthwhile investment is Key Publishing's own "PC PILOT" title. Apart from the product reviews, and various articles, it has an excellent series of flying tutorials, complete with charts, etc. (not to mention a collection of freeware on the CD).

xpboy

Do you use Skype? if so send me a PM and I'll add you to my contacts and then we'll talk through a few things, it's rather difficult and convoluted to try and tell someone how to use FS via txt
I am away for a week from tomorrow on hols but may get chance later tonight, if not then when I get back, if you have not got skype ignore :p

Start in the default Cessna 172. Everything you learn here can be used as you progress to other aircraft. You'll need a joystick if you dont already have one, and just remember:

Pull the joystick back = houses get smaller.

Push it forwards = houses get bigger.

Hope This Helps ! :)

Why not just start with the "Rod Machado" school included with FS2004? ;)
