At the beginning of September my Spanish teacher told me that there was an exachange happening in the middle of October and I could tag along with some younger students (I'm in 6th form) The exchange is to a school just out of Murcia in the south east of Spain, He booked the flights to ALC as it was a better flight time than to MJV. (plus i begged him so I could go on a LS 757 :D )

Monday 16th October:

We arrived at LBA at 6 am to check in for our 8 am flight to ALC, everything went very smooth although it was quite busy, the check in for the TOM PMI flight was massive ...... still dont know why the major decrease in flights next year!!!

Flight number: LS271
Aircraft: Boeing 757-200 G-LSAC
STD: 08.00
ATA: 08.15
STA:11.50
ATA: 11.45

We got on the bus at 07.20 to take us to the aircraft, I had a great view of the Onur Air A300 arrive :D and it came and parked right next to the bus although i didnt get a very good photo of it as it was still quite dark outside. WE boarded at about 07.30 and I was sat in seat 29A. The pilot told us that we had an ATC restriction over MAN and assigned us a take off slot of 08.35 but shortly he came back on saying that we could go now at 08.10.

We taxied out onto the runway and up to the loop, and we entered runway 14 and shortly we took off, very nice take off and we were quickly up into the air and on our way to sunny Spain. The flight was rather uneventful and very smooth, the cabin crew were great and the pilots kept us informed throughout the journey. We came into land with some good views of the Valencian countryside and once we landed we taxied and parked next to a MON A320. (all the photos are at the end as I don't know how to intergrate them into the text lol)

Punctuality: 10/10
Crew frendliness: 9/10
Aircraft Cleanliness: 6/10 - was a bit tatty and quite a few coffee stains on the celing (i always ask myself how the hell they get there but somehow they do!)
Overall: 9/10 .... well done Jet2!

Sunday 22nd October

We arrived at ALC after a great 6 days (on non stop Spanish!!) to find a whopping great queue for the LBA check in! We joined and after about half an hour we got to the desk where we had been already pre-assigned rows 40,41 and 42 right at the back. We proceeded through security which was quite quick and we took a seat (to watch some planes!! :diablo: ) Well I was quite amused to see a bmibaby B733 parked on the arpon looking dead (from what I understand) titan airways B752 G-ZAPU operating the badly delayed MAN service from last night.

Flight: LS272
Aircraft: G-LSAC (again lol)
STD: 13.10
ATD: 13.00
STA:15.00
ATA:14.40
Seat: 42A

We were called for boarding at 12.40 and we proceeded through to gate 2 where we went down some stairs to wait for a bus to take us to 'Jet2Lanzarote' After a frw moments a bus pulled up and we got on. After a quick hop over to the aircraft we got off and went up the rear stairs to be greeted by the same Stewardess who greeted me on the way out! In fact practically all the cabin crew were the same both ways.

The plane was boarded quickly and the doors were shut and off we went. We taxied out onto the runway past an Iberia 757 and A320, a EZY A319 and the poorly bmibaby 733. We turned onto the runway and after a few moments on waiting the engines roared into life and we really were pushed back into our seats! A cracking take off it seemed so sudden and powerful. Very quickly we were off the ground, we got a great view of the coast north of Alicante and Benidorm. Soon we were at out cruising altitude of 38,000 feet and into sunshine. The pilot came on the tannoy and gave us a bit more information, we notified us that back home at LBA the temperature was a sizzling 12 deg C .... a real contrast to the 28 deg C that we took off into :( He also told us that the outward flight was quite bumpy and our return leg would also be.

The turbulance started about 20 minutes after take off, and lasted most of the journey but it was only very light with the odd rattle and shake. The view was very limited right until we were on final approach over the pennines. We swiftly came in to land and it was a smooth landing on Runway 14 but there were two sudden jolts (seemed like slamming brakes on in a car) as we were sailing down the runway I spotted a Channel Express G-CELP on the loop which was a bit different and also a VLM F50 parked down the far end where the Jet2 aircraft park (any ideas??)

The aircraft was quickly emptied and off we went into the terminal buliding as 'Jet2Edinburgh' Passport control was quick and we were soon into thre baggage reclaim.

Punctuality: 10/10
Crew frendliness: 10/10
Aircraft Cleanliness: 8/10 .... it was a bit better at the back ...a few less coffee stains!! but there was the odd scuff but hay not bad!
Overall: 10/10 ... a very good flight and was very impressed with Jet2 and their 757's

I apologise for some on the photos, most were taken through dirty glass but I did my best! The air shots were taken from Elche a nearby town about 10 kms from the airport so I am quite proud of them!

its probably like a sealent or some sort of glue that has melted an leaked or it could just be like oil from the bolts and rivits etc, nothin to worry about.

Great report!

I flew to ALC last week too with Jet2 (but from MAN) and got 75s G-LSAD (hybrid livery) and G-LSAE. I was very impressed with Jet2 like you were, they have done a good job with the interior, nice and airy feel to it.

Intresting to read that your inbound flight was bumpy, my outbound was choppy all the way through the day after your flight (23rd), high clouds.

Thanks for the report!
