-Very nice, esp. the formation pics :)
Also interesting to see Gripens with live missiles. I wonder why the Sidewinders are not carried on wingtip pylons. Are Czech people smaller than Swedish? :D

no wonder, the reason is less wings strain, if they carry more missiles of course sidewinders are on the wingtips

-What is that smoke coming downwards near the exhaust?

APU - auxiliary power unit. Directly above the smoke, on top of the rear fuselage you can see the opened doors of the APU air inlet.

-It could also be fuel from the fuel dump vent.

That is most likely compressor secondary air - i.e. air that escapes through the small gaps between the various stator and rotor stages and enters in the central part of the compressor (between the rotor disks). That air is better to be evacuated.
The air appears white because is already compressed, and when escapes in the atmosphere through the ventral pipe it expands and forms condensation.

I bet my five bucks that it is the oil vapour coming from the oil drainage system.;)

thanx for wish, bwt in 2010 will be finalised full state of CzAF supersonics fleet and in according with "Vize 2010" - future army layout, CzAF will have minimally 24 supersonics or better 36 (dependly on financial budget) since 2015. But the type isn´t sure, maybe some further gripens (or completely all 24-36 of new gripen version) or another type. Government and army will come to a resolution in 2010. Current gripens can be returned to Sweden in 2015 or Czech governement can buy them for rest price.
