Sorry about that shameless title, but I know the name gets your attention. I have decided it's time I came out and asked for your help. I am seeking refererence and quotes and particularly anecdotes and personal stories and details of the career of my father, Group Captain AB 'Woody' Woodhall. I have worked my way through the unpublished manuscript he left me and have started on "filling in the gaps." I am also very interested in any family contacts and photographs.
Any help gratefully received and I will keep a list of all contributors and references for inclusion in the book (which now seems well on the way to being published).
Cheers and thanks
Martin Woodhall
I have started some pages at martin.woodhall.googlepages.com with an outline of Woody's career.

From the many references to him I have read over the years, THE Controller would seem to be apt. He seems to have been held in a universally high regard.

I'm of absolutely no use in your quest but I look forward to buying the book.

There is a good quote about Woody in "The Maltese Penguin" by Frank Cockett - an RAF doctor who was on Malta.
"The other name which everybody speaks of with reverence is Group Captain Woodhall who was here even before Park. What he doesn't know about air fighting around Malta is not worth knowing!"
There was also quite a lot about him in a RCAF pilot history - I'm trying to remember the name of it, I'll look it up next time I'm at the local library

Thanks for the endorsement dhfan, and for the quote andromeda13. I've also been told there is a possible relative (but not a Woodhall) in Barnt Green.
