Hi Guys,
I have heard several airlines are planning to put onboard internet service? I have heard Air Canada is supposed to be ther first to do this. Isint this gonna be great. You can actually contact another person through this within the reange of 20,000 km. But the big problemn is it is gonna be DAMN expensive.

cheers

WOW!!!!

That`s great!!!!!
Now we can discuss the service of airlines LIVE here on the forum!!!!
For example:

Hi there,
At this moment I am cruising at 35000 feet on a KLM boeing 747-400,
The flight is easy, but the stewardesses are rude and smelly!!!
And I still have 8 hours to go!!!!

That will be fun!!!!!

RE: Onboard internet service?

It would be great being able to surf the internet while traveling by air, at least you have control over the inflight entertainment system.

Regarding the KLM stewardesses: you might be able the check the pretty cybercrews at www.klm.com.
Indeed good chance they are prettier than the real ones.

I found a statement on the KLM site which still puzzles me: KLM cabin attendants treat you with a "Dutch flair".

Being dutch myself, I really wonder what they mean by this.

RE: Onboard internet service?

Hee 1333sl,
Alles goed? (sorry for the english speaking people here!!!)

I have flown on KLM and China airlines to Bangkok, and if the KLM service on that flight was
with "Dutch Flair" I am not so proud to come from Holand!!!!
I never had worse service then on that flight!!!!!
No way , this boy is never going to fly long-haul stretches on KLM again!!!!

The China Airlines flight was much better!!!!
KLM sucks!!!!!!

RE: Onboard internet service?

I do not think we will see real-time access to the internet for years, if ever and not because the technology will not be there.

For sure there will be onboard intranets and airlines will invite various companies (Avis Hertz, Holiday Inn etc) to let them have their sites on board. This way the airline have revenue stream.

RE: Onboard internet service?

Just think you could be keeping up to date with the news mid pacific at 39,000ft to find the aircraft type you are on have just been found to have a major safety concern and are going to be grounded immediately.

now that would be fun!!!!!

RE: Onboard internet service?

Fun!!!!
Hahahaha

"this is your captain speaking: fasten your seatbelts now!
We are officially flying in a grounded aircraft.
Please check www.news........com for further information!
Thank you for flying xxx airlines, we hope to see you after landing!!!!

RE: Onboard internet service?

I hope you realise that Internet will not be exactly free or even cheap at 35000 ft !
