In October, I am flying firstclass with North West from San Francisco to Vancouver. The flight is a codeshare on an Alaska Airlines B737.

Has anyone else flown on Alaskan and if so was it an enjoyable experience?

RE: Alaska Airlines

I fly them all the time and love them. I think their economy class is better then Northwestern or American. First class is pretty much the same all over (BTW, I hate you :D)

They have had a few safety problems this year though.

RE: Alaska Airlines

I flew Alaska in 1997 SFO-SEA and SEA-LAX on B737 and was very impressed.

On the day that the Alaska MD80 crashed I was about to book SFO-SEA return for a trip in August this year, from which I have just returned. I held off booking for a few days and, given the can of worms the crash has thrown up, booked eventually on United.

Fell foul of United's problems with delays, a cancelled flight and an unscheduled night in a SFO hotel. They did offer me a flight on an Alaska MD80 but as I had been advised the fleet had been grounded the week before for further FAA action, I declined.

Should be no problem on the B737 but I'd still avoid their MD80s until everything clears up

RE: Alaska Airlines

I've flown Alaska numerous times and have always felt that it is one of the most service-oriented airlines in the USA. I'm always particularly impressed with the ground staff and the efficiency of the check-in process.

You can look forward to an enjoyable flight.
