In fact, most of the sales of the 777-300 were to airlines in Asia, where the larger passenger capacity of the 777-300 is better appreciated.
I know that Japan Air Lines, All-Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific, and (I believe) Singapore Airlines are primarily flying the 777-300 on regional routes in eastern Asia from Japan down to Australia. Emirates is the only airline outside of Asia to buy the 777-300, I believe.
Now, the 777-200 is quite a bit more popular, because they're being used as replacements for DC-10's and L1011's. In fact, the 777-200's flown by United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines and Continental Airlines are heavily used for trans-Atlantic routes from various cities in the USA. Only US Airways is flying the Airbus A330 on their routes from Pittsburgh and Philadelpha to Europe.

Hi raggi! Emirates flies a 773 into Heathrow daily, it comes in at 12:30 and leaves at 13:45.
I too have spent some time at Heathrow and agree with you: one magnificent airplane, that 777-300!
BUT! the airJamaica "Bird of Paradise" 340-300 comes, in my view, a very close second!

-Triple sevens
Hello Matthew
I do agree that the A340 is a very nice aircraft, but in my opinion it`s not even in the same league as the 777. Just the size of the engines on the 777 is good enough reason to find it better-looking. Especially GE90- powered ones. I can`t wait to see the -300ER, which will have the even larger version, the 115B. By the way, I don`t know how much your into civil aviation, but do you know of any airlines that operate GE90 powered 777-300s? All the operators I know have PW4000s or RR Trents.

Was it really Britannia? I have my doubts about it.

Sorry Raggi, I must agree with Matthew that the 340 is far superior in range and comfort. I am travelling on a 777 later this month so I may be swayed!
Also, I can't wait for the ER to arrive, big engines are agreeably very smart.

The Boeing 777-300 is without doubt the most graceful airliner flying today. I have spent several days at Heathrow watching airplanes, but I haven`t seen a stretched triple- seven there. I was wondering if anyone knew if the 777- 300 is employed on any Heathrow routes? Anyway, im a 17 year old aviation- enthusiast from Stavanger, Norway, and I really like the Airliner World magazine.
