Obviously we all understand the events that have unfolded in the
United States Of America - I imagine every forum has some kind of message relating to it so I think we should express our sympathy to the people who have lost loved one's and indeed to those who are suffering.

RE: Spare A Thought

I awoke this morning thinking I had simply endured a nightmare...

I salute our friends, the American people, in their hour of darkness...

RE: Spare A Thought

I was talking to some of my colleagues and friends in our sister company in Cartert NJ,just a few minutes north of New York,as this was happening. I was able to log into one of the news pages and tell them more about what was happening than they could get locally. They were obviously very nervous and not quite sure whether to evacuate or indeed where to go.Then we lost all communication channels, no phone, no e-mail , no Fax not even a mobile network.I eventually got contact from home at 10.00pm that evening and at that stage they could not account for all of the staff.
Thankfully they are all OK, but some of these friends of mine are pretty sure that they have friends missing. I spoke to a very tearful friend in NJ yesterday who cannot account for a girlfriend who works on wall street. This has upset me, not just because i know of someone who may have lost someone but because of the many hundreds even thousands of ordinary people, apparently many British, who have perished here.
I beg everybody to join Europe in the three minutes silence planned for 11.00am tomorrow (fri 14th) and show solidarity with the US and say a few silent words for those lost or suffering.
Phil.

RE: Spare A Thought

If I could put my feelings into words I would.I just couldn't believe what I saw.I watched events on TV as they unfolded and I have never seen such a heart wrenching thing.
My thoughts and condolences go out to the victims and thier families, and to the American people as a whole.
