-Sad news indeed. My thoughts go out to the families and friends of the crew.

-I happened to know one of the crew that perished last Friday. I got a couple of rides with him years ago in photo mapping Aero Commanders. He told me to come along for a flight in the Merlin, but we never made it happen. He also flew the Norwegian Convair 440 that travelled around airshows during the eighties. A very nice guy with a great sense of humour. Jan, you will be missed... RIP
I just hope that the cause will be found before the roumour mill starts gaining momentum, as it always does.

-Always feels more personal when you have a connection with an accident.
Have not heard any rumours but the CVR is supposed to have been salvaged which should be invaluable.
The photo shows the severe damage that the aircraft sustained. Condolences to all involved.

-I agree. Whether it be one or more of the people on board or the aircraft itself, it does hit home more.

The Merlin was lost about 10.30 a.m. and the three crew are not believed to have survived.:(
