Big John's comments about hen-pecked pilots on the microlight for hire thread got me thinking.

How many of us take our wifes, girlfriends, husbands, boyfriends etc flying with us (or somebody elses wifes, girlfriends, husbands, boyfriends for that matter!)?

Mrs Seagull enjoys flying so I'm lucky.

We get to share the flying and navigating and I never get nagged at for spending time at the airfield.

Mind you, it does mean that I don't get that peaceful hour or two away from 'domestic bliss' when I visit the flying club

I suppose I am in the minority for having an aviating Mrs or am I?

Mrs Moggy doesn't enjoy flying

But she does enjoy good food, wine, stimulating company and seeing foreign countries.

So, bless her, she accompanied me on last summer's flight to France and Italy, and hardly complained at all.

She certainly doesn't get to excited if I suggest a quick hour round the block in East Anglia, unless it is to meet the chums we have made through flying.

Shame, but she's still the best thing that has ever happened to me (But I haven't yet been offered a ride in a Spitfire)

Last time I took the old dear up was in the back of an Auster MkV. I looked over my shoulder and she was fast asleep!

I'm going to arrange for my gf to have a trial flight in a 152. The logic is that hopefully she will enjoy it, and therefore deem it a worthwhile past time. ;)

Which is more than she thinks about the cars :(

Lets hope it goes well

Does the pope pray a lot? She'll eat, drink and socialise all day if you give her chance!!

That's why she fits in so well at the airfield - the 'pilots' at my airfield seem to spend more time eating, drinking and socialising than actually flying!

She's taken a liking to helicopter flying of late after she was given a quick trip in an R22. I'm told I need to work some overtime to fund her PPL/H!!

I suppose I am the 'mrs'! I drag my partner along to all the fly-ins and shows we go to. To be fair, he enjoys the events too. He drives, I take the pictures ;)

Mrs Avid would rather stop at home and watch telly than be seen anywhere near a flying club. It's hard enough getting her to join me at the annual xmas party.

Still, at least if I get lost in the air I can't blame it on her poor map reading!! Not that I get lost often you understand......:D
