Ya está disponible el F-14 Tomcat para Microsoft Flight Simulator

DC Designs ha anunciado que ya está disponible el F-14 A/B Tomcat para Microsoft Flight Simulator.

DC Designs' F-14 Tomcat is made with a focus on high visual detail and to be less demanding compared with complex procedural simulators without the need for intense study. Both the A and B models are included along with several paint schemes.

The F-14 is coded using the native Microsoft Flight Simulator flight model, allowing for departure spins and engine compressor stalls for the F-14A TF-30 engines. It also sports custom-coded manoeuvring flaps, slats and intake ramps based on aircraft speed and angle of attack.

Both the front and rear cockpit positions are modelled, along with customisable crew figures that disappear when you occupy their seats. The instruments and screens are designed in 3D with smooth animations based on the real aircraft, including a head-up display. Authentic night lighting with brightness controls as well as user-operated 'slime lights' for combat operations is also included along with reflective mirrors, scratch effects on the canopy and icing/rain effects.

Animations consist of wheel chocks, covers, tie-down chains and a ground power unit. Other details include afterburners, crew ladders, a tail hook and control surfaces. User-controlled ordnance via the simulator payload manager allows mounting weapons on hardpoints with an active weight increase.

The aircraft comes with a custom sound set as well as a paint kit and a detailed manual. It is Virtual Reality ready and is compatible with the Hard Deck Simulations' Aircraft Carrier Module.
