Heading up Plane Sailing’s Catalina operation has given this ex-RAF Harrier pilot some tremendous experiences, even before you consider all the other flying he’s done
The logbooks of very accomplished pilots can sometimes be chock-full of different aircraft. Equally, though, there are plenty who prefer to specialise on just a few. Paul Warren Wilson puts himself in the latter category. “I’ve not fl own many aeroplanes in my lifetime”, he says, “but the ones that I have fl own I’ve fl own quite a lot”. It’s an interesting list, too: Jet Provost and Harrier from his RAF days, Catalina, Tigercat, Fokker 50 and Boeing 747 in civilian life, and the odd unusual diversion along the way.
