Yes made by Armstrong Whitworth, but they also made Albermarles and Lancasters in WW2. I do not recognise it as a Whitley parts. If you can find a part number I can tell you either way....

-will keep looking, its a Stradishall part so probably Lanc or Whitley then

-kind of looks like a tailplane tip that fairs into the rudder on a lanc

-That number is out of range for the Whitley. It's probably an Albemarle part

-Elliot, I thought about the albermale... the tip of it with that rod coming out is too small for the arm that operated the rudder on the lanc.. Definitely not Whitley then?

-Cheers John, I found a vague reference to a special duties Albermarle crashing at Stradishall but unable to open the page. I will revert to (old school) and have a look and see if there is a mention in the history of Stradishall airfield book . Kev

-Trawled through the book last night, unfortunatly couldnt find a reference to an Albermarle crash at Stradishall, so if anyone has any info from Chorley I would be most grateful. Kev
