WORLD WAR TWO PACIFIC SEAFIRES

On May 4, 1945 a Zerosen kamikaze carrying a 551lb bomb struck HMS ‘Formidable’. Eleven aircraft were destroyed, eight sailors killed and 51 wounded.

The ready room deep inside HMS Indefatigable offered little relief from the constant tropical heat in late March 1945.
