Northamptonshire offers a rich variety of aeronautical treasures. It is a large county and I’ve selected a ‘tour’ of the northern half, offering an unhurried day. The Midlands location hints at support and training airfields, but this is far from the case: fighters, bombers, parachute and clandestine forces, Cold War missiles and even a factory building Lancasters were once to be found in the region.
