Using flight simulation for real-world training
COMPUTER TO COCKPIT
I once read that if you ask any pilot how they started flying you will hear a love story and it makes sense. Flying, in my opinion, is one of the greatest passions a human being can have. After all, what can be better than a sunset above the clouds or coming out of what feels like an eternity in ‘the soup’ to sail on top of an overcast layer? I am sure we can all agree that there are few things that can top this unique experience that somehow, no matter how many times it is repeated, never gets old. Yet, this unique experience quite literally comes at a price for many of us. With the increasing cost of flight training and aircraft rental comes the proverbial tug of war between practical experience and cost effectiveness. Flying is more than just habitual reactions and routines: it is a learned and practised skill and while such skills never go away, they can certainly get rusty.
