Flying Airliners

Flight simulation is a hobby where we are always learning something new.

As Peter Stark discussed in his article Flying Light Aircraft, published in Issue 125, the logical place to begin for people new to the hobby is in general aviation. These aircraft are less complex so you can focus on developing your piloting and navigation skills without being overwhelmed by managing complex systems. However, once you have mastered the intricacies of general aviation flying, you may wish to move on to more advanced aircraft types. While some of us will branch into combat simulation, the natural progression for those interested in civil aviation is to move to the flight deck environment of a modern airliner. So in this two-part guide, we will look at the diverse world of airliners and the various aircraft that operate in this role.
