In recent years Australian airports have enjoyed unparalleled growth. Between 2008 and 2019, international passenger traffic increased at an average rate of 6% each year. In response, the airport operators have spent much of the past decade adjusting to a rapidly expanding aviation landscape – fuelled by high demand, primarily driven by growth in China and India. Facilities across the nation have invested unprecedented sums in expanding and strengthening airport and aviation infrastructure.
