Across the world, airlines’ fleets are becoming simpler as they look to replace ageing examples with more versatile multi-role next-generation types.
There are several advantages to running fewer models of aircraft, the most important of course is reduced costs associated with maintenance and crew training. If you’ve got less variation in the fleet, you’ll need a smaller parts pools, fewer variants of simulators etc.
