Comment on historic aviation by the chief executive of the UK’s Light Aircraft Association

To fly or not to fly? Is it better for an historic aircraft to be displayed at an airshow as a going concern, or should it be consigned to the relative security of a museum?

This question has again recently been raised by a debate within Leicestershire County Council. Should the sole Reid and Sigrist Desford prone-pilot experimental aircraft, which is owned by them but in recent years has been restored to flight by Windmill Aviation at Spanhoe in Northamptonshire, be allowed to continue flying? Or should it go to the Newark Air Museum for static display?
