Services conducted by the team include swab tests, car park marshalling and on-site administration. The contract also includes some office based jobs which oversee the Fit to Fly certification process.

“The aviation and travel retail industries have faced unprecedented challenges over the past 12 months, but with a talent pool of incredible people, the partnership with Cignpost was an opportunity to diversify our business, while retaining the jobs of our team members,” said Rob Stefanovic, head of business development for ABM UK.

Staff underwent role specific which included the process of administering the test, working safely in that environment and ensuring customers are protected.

The staffing process, run by Blackjack Promotions, is supported by a digital CMS system which automates the entire process – including candidate application and the online interview. This sped up the hiring process and allowed for the relevant compliance to be covered.

Christian Corney, CEO of Cignpost Diagnostics, commented: “ABM's team is a perfect fit for the vital role of helping us deliver fast and accurate PCR COVID-19 tests at our nations primary airports. Their experience in the airport environment and understanding of how to support passengers is incredibly valuable in enabling ExpressTest to deliver class leading COVID-19 screening to the public.”

Last year, ABM established an Expert Advisory Council that includes external leading experts in infectious disease and industrial hygiene.
