An executive version of the Airbus A380, currently the largest passenger airliner in service, was announced on May 22 at the European Business Aircraft Exhibition in Geneva. Intended as a head-of-state aircraft, the modified A380s are being offered by Geneva-based Sparfell & Partners and would have an interior by London-based Winch Design.
While the A380s that would be converted have not been identified, they are believed to be four early-production aircraft currently operated by Singapore Airlines that are approaching the end of their ten and 12- year leases.
A 2007 order from Prince Alwaleed of Saudi Arabia for a VIP-configured A380 was cancelled in February 2016 before fabrication started. That has been the sole order placed for a VIP-configured A380.
