Test facility to be built for PD-35 engine

Russia is building a new test facility for high thrust engines, including the Aviadvigatel PD- 35 project, a 77,000lb (342.5kN) engine, to be developed by 2023, that will be able to power a range of military and civil aircraft, including the CRAIC CR929 widebody being developed in a joint venture with China. The facility will be built by the United Engines Corporation, part of the Rostec State Corporation, at its current Perm factory, at a cost of RUB 20 billion. It will start operations in 2021.
