GLASGOW

Award-winning Glasgow Airport celebrated its 50th birthday in May 2016, during a year that is very likely to have been the busiest in its history. Much of its success is down to MD Amanda McMillan and her staff, who have been given ‘the freedom and permission to be more flamboyant’. Andy Martin reports.

Emirates used an Airbus A380 on the service from Dubai on April 10, 2014, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the route. The superjumbos are restricted to certain parts of the airfield due to wingtip clearance constraints. (WikiMediaCommons / Emirates EK27)
