The RAF is putting two training aircraft types back on the airshow display circuit. The Shorts Tucano entered service in 1989 and was last on the airshow scene in 2014. The Tucano will be retired later this year so it will be the last chance to see it display. The pilot for the Tucano’s final year is Flt Lt Liam Matthews, of 72 Sqn at RAF Linton-on-Ouse. The Tucano Display Team will appear at Abingdon, Torbay, Cosford, Newcastle (Northern Ireland), Scarborough, Cleethorpes, Swansea, Yeovilton, RIAT, Bray (Ireland), Eastbourne, Biggin Hill, Clacton, Rhyl, Bournemouth. Portrush (Northern Ireland) and Southport. Flt Lt Neil Owczarkowski is the Tutor display pilot for 2019. The Tutor team has confirmed appearances at Duxford’s May show, Cosford , Dunsfold, Weston, Salisbury, Swansea, RIAT, Linton-on-Ouse (families day), Sunderland, East Fortune, Benson (families day), Eastbourne, Portrush and Southport.
