The Sunderland International Airshow 2020
The Sunderland International Airshow returns in its 32nd year, held annually in July over the North East coast. The show boasts excitement both in the air and on the ground for all to enjoy.
This free seafront airshow has built itself from the ground up, becoming one of the UK's biggest seafront events. The 2019 show saw regular Royal Air Force displays, including the RAFAT Red Arrows, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4 and Boeing Chinook display teams; with the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm displaying its AW.159 Wildcat HMA.2 under the Black Cats helicopter display team. The show also attracted some rare European attention, with the Swiss Air Force's PC-7 Team displaying on the weekend days (their only UK appearance) and the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight's SAAB J35 Draken was given display authorisation just prior to the event.
