Beautiful though it is wouldn't a medium size aircraft do the job a lot more effectively?

From minor mishaps develop the greatest successes.
Aircraft crash and people die but unlike many other industries most Air Investigation reports result in some mandatory/obligatory improvements or retrofitting. These reports also feed valuable facts to the current and future production.
The payload capacity of the Airlander is what is unique - military interest not just civil.
