One my best loved and reputable UK aero engine manufacturers Rolls Royce is facing a 'long haul' in replacing all Trent 1000 engines (predicted to take 2-3 years to complete replacing all engines out in service)

At least so far there has been no major catastrophe.

It is likely to dent their profitability.

Do other forum members recall that the Trent 1000 had an uncontained failure in 2010 at Rolls Royce on a test rig - http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2010-08-23/rolls-royce-engine-blowout-on-test-bed-shuts-site-used-for-boeing-airbus

I hope that RR come out of this one without any serious airline problems.
