-I've photographed those 3 birds on previous visits to Jordan, and shall see them again in a couple of weeks when I go there again for a few days.
They don't seem in too bad shape, bodywork-wise at least, but the rear staircases were down every time I've seen them, and if they're been left open for 13 years the interiors must be 'a bit' dusty now.

-You know.. if their condition weren't so bad... those 727s would be worth a lot of money.
They've missed out on 14 years of flying....save for the odd privat jet, they'll be the lowest cycle 727s in the world.
Alas, they're condition is far from airworthy... no one wants to bring them up to spec :( *tear*

-Such ashame that there are still less and less 727's in our skies. Would be great to see them up in the air again. Iraqi Airways has just got a 767 though.

got to face it though... as much as I like and admire the 727, its hey day is over and its time in our skies is slowly coming to an end.
Time for the 727 to fade quietly into the nite and her successor, the 757 to shine.

Scrap value with no engines... £200K
Each engine circa £120K
for an airworthy example... depending on cycles etc... roughly £1-3m

of your parking fines. Especially since these aircraft have been parked here since the first gulf war. :D I know I have posted a couple of times on this whole Iraqi Airways thing but I'm curious to know what are the chances of a successful future for the airline?.
