-They filed slots for a daily second service - No doubt they did the same at EDI - while they tweaked the flight timings etc.
They would have done this so they could guarantee getting slots for the days they wanted to operate the extra service into and out of GLA.

-Also Noted was EDI going to 10 weekly.
No Doubt if CO had the aircraft available both EDI & GLA could support a twice daily service.

-11 x 757 per week offers more capacity than the 764 did.

-My May flights with CO are on a 757-200 and, as previously mentioned on another thread, I'm not happy at losing the 767-400

-It's all available on CO's website now. :D

-Indeed it is, and with COA upping the frequency to 11 a week from GLA shows their faith in that particular airport despite competition from US and AAL.

-CO operate daily DUB flights with 764 in winter and EI 3 daily with A333 1 via SNN in summer. What are the cahnces of CO adding a 2nd daily DUB perhaps a late departure as the latest of the 4 goes about 2-3ish

-Wot are the chances of an extra 757 to MAN?! If the 764 is coming to MAN in the summer (which personally i don't see it coming, 777 probs) shouldn't MAN get an extra service?
Good news for my fellow Celts tho :D

-bmi-star - apparantly the 764 that operated the GLA route in the summer is going onto the MAN route as CO need to redeploy the 777 to operate new routes to Asia from the US.

-But i thought the MAN service is v popular, especially in the summer, CO would be making a big mistake there imho!
By: 8th January 2005 at 20:08 Permalink - Edited 1st January 1970 at 01:00
-There was talk of a second service on the 752 for MAN if that went ahead - however this was from airliners.net.

The B767-400 has already replaced the B777 on the MAN-EWR route, Elgan.
I posted a picture of one yesterday. :)

-Just plonked in a random date for MAN and out of the CRS came:
For the week of Thursday, June 09, 2005 through Thursday, June 16, 2005
Continental Airlines CO 21 Non-stop 777

Yeah i saw, but i was thinking about the SUMMER scheds? Its usually a bust time on the MAN-EWR route, so downgrading it to a 764 on the Summer scheds could be a step back for CO?

-Ahhh - I see.
That's different, innit? ;)

-Just checked various dates on travel sites and the B777 is back on the service from 3rd May for the rest of the year. This is a recent change; I checked before Xmas and timetable was showing 767-400 for the whole year.

Apparently COA are operating 11 flights a week from 9th June on the GLA - EWR route using Boeing 757's.
This means in the peak summer months GLA will have 25 scheduled weekly departures to the US.
