Airliners at Farnborough!

Most people think of Farnborough as busy for two weeks every other year with a huge international airshow, and for the 2 years in between nothing happens apart from a few biz jet movements. Whilst that might have been the case 5 years ago Farnborough is seriously on the up, and in terms of movements is similar to many of the regional airports such as Belfast City and Southampton. Today was a very good example of the diversity and interest that Farnborough can bring, with several airliner types intermingling with the vast amounts of biz jets. Business aviation doesnt seem to interest a great deal of people these days, so instead of bombarding you with all the pictures of Citations etc here are my photos over the last few days of the airliner types we have been recieving, intermingled with a few nice biz jets as well :D First off is an Eastern Saab 2000 that positioned in from Norwich, and departed out as a charter to Belfast City, not sure if AndrewM has pics from the other end or not. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/GCDEA01mod.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/GCDEA02mod.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/GCDEA03mod.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/GCDEA04mod.jpg Next is a G4, in old Saudi Arabian Airlines colours departing to Geneva: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/HZAFW04mod.jpg Dornier 328JETs are quite common here, Austrian ones often dominating: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/OEHMS01mod.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/OEHAA01mod.jpg A Global Express operated by the same Company as the first J328: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/OEIEL03mod.jpg And finally a member of the Royal Family departing to Manchester: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/ZD70403mod.jpg

Absolutely stunning Mark, getting better and better with the camera. Farnborough is somewhere i'd love to visit, even outside airshow time, is a hell of a long way from me though!

Nice photos Mark. sadly I didn't get over until around 4 and missed the ever illusive Saab  , did manage a few snaprs in the last few days as they have been on eastiles. LBARULES Farnborough is very hit and miss. Today there were about 20 movements between 1430 and 1630, some days there will be 5. When rthey are on eastailes is the best.

Nice shots Rob. Easterlies are definitly the best, although 24 landing shots are sometimes possible if they roll right to the end.

Very good photos Mark, really like the first Saab. The AN-74 is looking great too. Not sure whether I should head up STN tomorrow seeing as they're on the 'best' runway..

I will keep this thread as the main Farnborough thread if people dont mind, saves me creating a new post every day, as the amount of traffic coming on doesnt justify individual threads really. Sunday is usualy quite a bad day, but today was ace. First off the Eastern Airways came back, however they changed over the aircraft running the trip, and we were greeted with a JS41 instead, which arrived from Dublin, and positioned back to Leeds: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/GMAJG02mod.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/GMAJG03mod.jpg Next was an interesting aircraft, a Piaggio P180 that had come all the way from Malta. Possibly the best German registration about ;) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/DIZZY02mod.jpg And finally another J328, and another regular one, operated by Cirrus Aviation, coming in from Pau. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v641/regionaljetfleet/DBGAQ01mod.jpg I left as they changed the runway direction, and as I got back in I got an email saying a Mexican G4 had arrived! I was understandably very irritated!
