Yes, 6 weekly MAN-MCO this winter, 1 weekly MAN-BGI all on a MAN based 744.
Next summer MAN-MCO up to 10 weekly flights, all on 747-400s

Virgin from Manchester, I was for a moment wondering if this should of been a more private conversation :D  ;) .

Good news though, I love those VS 747-400's!

You're in for a real treat. They really are a great airline. You could have taken the family to the recently opened Disneyland in Hong Kong and experienced the A340-600 from Heathrow ;)

That's a classic! :D

You're in for a real treat.

The MAN flights use the LGW based aircraft. To be honest they are very basic inside and are not up to standard with the rest of the Virgin fleet, the aircraft were orginally meant for Alitalia. Although I do belive they are re-fitting them?

But aren't all of the Virgin B747-400s based at Gatwick these days?

Nope not at all. LHR still sees lots of Virgin B744s. They use them to JFK, LAX, SFO and many other destinations.

Right.....you live and learn.

Having said that, I've just checked my last couple of LHR logs and there isn't a single Virgin B747 in there, so you can see where I got the idea. :)

Maybe I was looking too high up last time I was at LHR, then.

I'll look a bit lower down next time. :D:D:D:D

The 744's are gradually going to filter down to LGW as the new 346's arrive at LHR.

There is a VS343 flying from Gatwick, and it operates the twice weekly Port Harcourt service. Here's the timetables.
