Couldn't see this posted anywhere, it appears that a C208 Caravan crashed after departure from Winnipeg sometime in the last 24 hours. Doesn't look too good from these photos http://www.jetphotos.net/showphotos.php?ids=556828,556829 . Anyone got any more info? Best wishes to all involved.

The plane took off from Winnipeg at 5.35 a.m. bound for Thunder Bay, ONT and crashed about 6.00 a.m. after the pilot requested a return to the airport.

The pilot believed to be Nancy Allen age 49 had worked for Morningstar, a major Fedex contractor for five years.

Apart from the regular cargo, there were six vials of herpes virus and also vials of the flu 'A' virus, so the Hazmat team were on site. :(

Thank god there wasnt a passenger train going past then or shortly after. Terrible loss. Any reason why she wanted to return?

As the NTSB would say, these investigations take time! If I discover the reason, I will post it.

As suspected and speculated, the plane iced up. The request to return to the airport was made ten minutes after takeoff and the plane impacted almost vertically. There were about 200 parcels on board. Condolences.
