Yeah they changed it a while back, so it's not entirely an aviation channel anymore. Probably to get a bigger audience or something.

It's gone downhill over the past year. I agree though put the other stuff about trains and cars on the Discovery channel and leave Discovery Wings purley as it's name says.

I remember when they changed it, it was due to the fact it is on air for long hours, but, there is simply not enough aviation material.(i believe they don't have access to National geographics aviation footage) Think i have seen Flying Heavy Metal with Bruce Dickinson about 20 times hehe (still great show though...) But a wee bit too much of Pete Watermans bleeding trains shows tho!!!

I emailed Sky regarding this, basically telling them that their channel called "Discovery Wings" is in fact a lie, because it contains programs regarding trains & cars now, I also stated the point that they should either change the name, because technically it is not a wings channel any more or they should move the rubbish to one of the other 10 or so discovery channels they have. Their response was to tell me that the viewing schedule had no plans to change and that the current line up caters for a wide variety of interests. My point still remains valid that they should change the name of the channel, some people are pretty clueless, hmmm, discovery wings, but we'll load it up with cars & trains, like COME ON for goodness sake /rant over :)

I get the Danish version of Discovery (just one channel) and am lucky to get one aircraft programme per month - stop moaning, you UK viewers don't know how lucky you are! As for train programmes, I haven't seen one yet, but would be very happy to. My train videos are just about worn out (Gresley Pacifics for ever!)

Lucky? if your idea of lucky is the same old "Flying Heavy Metal" series or "An Affair With A Connie" or the same old Airshow World program screened 35 times over then you are more than welcome to have them

You can still see Farnborough 98 and 00 on the Airshow programe cant you? Maybe I should have a word with my mums school friend given he has held Head of Discovery Europe, America and Wings for a short time (three different jobs). Unsure where he is now but ill start moaning! He is married to one of the Radio 4 presenters but i forget her name.

Yeah i liked watching 'Flight Deck' all the time and now its hardly ever on, they might be doing this to stop the repeats - but can't they get up and produce some more documentries after all avation plays an important role in history

Was it not AC and YYZ-FRA on a Boeing 767. Which as Deano points out was in two parts?
