There is a total of 71 planes languishing at Spanish airports which have been abandoned.  The majority of these belong or belonged to companies which are bankrupt or the owners cannot afford the parking charges.  This is according to AENA, the Spanish airports' authority.  At Valencia airport there are 24 and at Madrid airport, 19.  The largest of course is a 747 which used to belong to Pronair and is at Valencia.  The number of planes, which may seem amazing, is actually a reduction of 28 from the year 2014.  Eventually they will be auctioned off or scrapped, but often there are no bids.
