Hello,
i was in a discussion with a friend the other day and was wondering if there is a A-318? I thought that it was a hybrid of the A-320 like the A-319 but he said that there is no such plane. Can someone please provide some information.
Thanks.

Yes, there will be A318. What a suprise, smaller than 319. B717 probably being nearest competitor.

Airbus are set to start producing the A318 over the next two years. It will be a 100 seater, also in the A320 family.
However, whether or not it will be accepted as such is at debate, as it will use PW4000series engines, whereas the rest of the A320 family use IAE V2500/CFM56 engines.

RE: is there a A-318??

The A-318 will have a maximum range of 2850nm. A typical two-class cabin layout seats 107 passengers (117 if configured in a one-class layout) and the aircraft will be powered by CFM56-5 or PW6000 engines. Orders have already been placed by TWA, Air France and Egyptair. However, you won't find any photos at the moment, since it was only launched in 1999 and production hasn't started yet.
