I have recently read the August issue of Airliner World. The merger between CASA, DASA and Aerospatiale is interesting. But why do they want BAe systems to sell it's 20% share. BAe produce the wings and in case the other partners haven't noticed planes can't fly without wings!

RE: Airbus

Haven't read the piece myself but its the first I've heard of this. BAe Systems is a very full and active partner and the new arrangement has just been announced after a great deal of negotiation.

Sounds like someone's misinterpreted something here

RE: Airbus

The main problem is a question of control. Airbus cannot control BAE - but it could if it bought the 20% share outright!
