-Some very nice compositions and exposures there. And hey, we all shoot what we can get in front of our lenses.
I would have to drive 120 KM up to Den Helder in the north of Holland to get this kind of action.

-Nice photos, but two photographers at the same airport? Couldn't one of you move to say, Cambridge? ;)

-Thanks one and all for looking and giving such a positive relpy, it felt like I'd won the jackpot on a one armed bandit getting some feedback so quickly.Yes I guess Keith and I both like our local but Cambridge is a bit of a hike on a regular basis.
I'll try and get some photos from a trip I made in 05 to Den Helder,"EC" but every time I try to get the C.D to upload it makes everything freeze.:confused:I took the ramp one Keith when the French Alpha's arrived on Wednesday pre the show.Regards and thanks to you all again.:)

-Nothing wrong with supporting your local. Nice to see a PA-23 out and about, there are not many left this side of the pond I reckon.

-A couple for civilspotter to look at from 2005 and my visit was not long after the "Uiver" had its mishap at some small airshow in North Holland.I was informed and dont know if it was a reliable source that the incident was because of a prop strike. :)

-Cheers Rab....just as a point of interest the last 3 were taken with a 3 mega pic is-si Canon compact and still beats my 8 mega pics for clarity. Its all beyond me but choose a Canon "is" compact if you have a choice.
You might have to charge the double A batteries more than you like but the trade off is the picture quality is second to none.See Ya cheers.:)

-Oh "Eh" I like the first Bristow, I love how the colour scheme blends over to the museum Air UK tailplane, a red, white, blue thing ;)
And the same for the last photo of the same aircraft hover taxying up the runway ! nice little hand out of the DV window ! It's all down to details ????

-Keith, as someone who normally finds helicopters as about as interesting as a packet of fish fingers, these images stopped me in my tracks....they're great and well done. BTW what's the reg on the UK F27 behind that first Bristow?

-Hello Interflug....Thanks for the positive remarks about the helicopter pics and I think the reg of the F27 is G BMMT.I often bump into Keith up at Norwich and am pretty sure he'll have a quiet smile about your remark....Cheers..JohnB.;):)

-Hi Again....To you Interflug62m and as the youth of today say,"No problem" as little errors like that easily happen.I did notice you mentioning you had some dealings with Air UK and it interested me.
They used Newcastle a lot and one of my jobs back in mid 70s while working for Servisair at N/cle was to supply generator power clean them on turn around and do chocks and what not.Things seem to go and come so quickly its only when you see them in a museum do you stop and reflect.
Jim Denyer was the outgoing manager at N/cle at the time an ex Mosquito pilot and I just think of the photo opportunities I now missed as I wasnt interested in photography at the time.Still nice to talk to you and hash up the past a bit.Cheers....:)

-Question for Keith and/or The "Eh" Team...
Any ideas what the Aeronova Metroliner is/was doing, everytime you guys post pictures up here I see one of their aircraft, and just wonder what it does at NWI, is it based there or does it have maintainence done on it there?
Great photos btw, thanks for sharing.:)
By: 5th October 2010 at 21:39 Permalink - Edited 1st January 1970 at 01:00
-cloud 9. I hope John doesn't mind my butting in on his thread ? The Aeronova Metro's seem to be here often, possibly weekly ? there was one here today ! I thought I heard some time ago that it was involved with export of day old chicks, but have later heard that it is connected with rig crew transport ?? someone told me that it connects with the arrival of one of the many helicopters serving the offshore gas production rigs etc ??
This is all speculation and hearsay at the moment ..... more research needed when I see the 'man in the know'

More eurocopters and 2 from Hardwick.Like most people who cant travel too far and wide for airshows I find my local,"Norwich" has plenty of interest to people like myself who are always willing to photograph other flying machines other then fast jets at big shows.
It might not be everybodys cup of tea taking snaps of helicopters but just the bright colours alone for me are a plus point and when your not "David Bailey" the practise comes in handy.I visited Hardwick airfield on Sunday just gone where Maurice Hammond sometimes flys his Mustangs but no such luck this day either as the wind was too harsh"Again".
Anyway of interest was the landing of a Piper Aztec PA23 who's pilot expertly battled with his rudder to drop the twin in with meticulous timing.I looked up to find that this aircraft is specially used for aerial photography and survay work.If your not asleep by now the photo's.:)
