There's fun for all the family at the North East Land, Sea & Air Museum with the region’s first Flight Simulator Show.

With over 12 different simulators on show, you can try your hand at captaining an airliner or flying a few circuits at Newcastle Airport in a light aircraft right through to fast jet training or helicopter combat missions. Whether young or old, there'll be something to interest you as well as a chance to talk to local experts.

Taking place on the weekend of 18th and 19th October, the show will bring together enthusiasts from all over the North East to showcase the world of Flight Simulation brought to Nelsam with the help of the North East Flight Sim Group.

It's not just home simulators on show. If you’re looking for hardware or software for your own sim, you'll find it here in the Museum’s Flight Shop which will tempt you with everything from scenery to flight yokes.

Tickets cost £5.00 for adults, children and senior citizens £3.00. This covers both entry for the museum and the show. The event is open from 10 am till 5.00 pm on both days.

Nelsam is just off the A19, next to the Nissan Offices at Sunderland.

The Flight Sim weekend was a resounding success with several hundred people visiting. We think it can be bigger and better - although we now think it should be a one day event - and are planning another for next year possibly around July time.
