-If you learn on an aircraft that has a decent FMC/M/CDU you should get to grips with it easily enough. The controllers are usually good with newbies and will help you out just the French are known for being grumpy!

-Will,
First of all maybe you should try some VFR flying, circuits etc. If you want to fly IFR and don't have a plane with an FMC, just a GPS, I suggest you do the auto-route when planning your flightplan on FS. When they tell you to do WAL1R departure etc it's basically just a departure that makes the traffic flow aswell as noise conditions. Charts (some of them) can be found on avsim and other sites.

-Charts for UK can be found on www.ais.org.uk Requires registration but it's free, then a maze to navigate to the AIP section.
It is a steep learning curve but lots of fun when you get the hang of it.

-With regard to the FMC/MCDU, you are going to need some Payware aircraft as there is very little choice of freeware that is decent.
Your FMC/CDU is all just about Flight Management by computer. A lot of the aircrafts systems are controlled by the FMC. You can tell it the aircrafts weights, and it will calculate the take off speeds (just a little more complicated than that though).
If you want to you can add my msn at stokerb15@aol.com and we can have a chat, I control on Vatsim and i'm happy to help!

-Just one question, the other aircraft all show up as the same model as mine altough the call signs are like TCX, and also in LHR there was me and 1 other aircraft how can i increase the traffic, i dont have any AI aircraft of real airlines though.

-You cant increase the traffic on vatsim becuase its real people talking to you, if they're not logged on then they are not there!!
I'm not sure about the model query though, in squawkbox I see a lot of different models, and the ones squawkbox doesn't recongise sshow as prisms/triangles.
