I wish all at Sandown every success as it is an airfield I have a soft spot for. I have two reasons to be fond of the place. One is that I always like grass airfields amd the other is that it is the airfield where I introduced my youngest to the joys of light aircraft. Unfortunately, not being a pilot, I am unable to fly in and add my support the proper way.

And one I have never flown to. I'd better get there quickly.

I did visit a month or so back and very pleasant it was. Here's the view as I turned onto final for 05

As mentioned previously the outlook for Sandown is a lot brighter for the time being.
The good folks at the Specialist Flying School now in charge of things, the runway has been freshly mowed, along with work in progress to smooth out some of the lumps and bumps. So come on down folks!

(Moggy should you visit again, make yourself known at Airframe Assemblies if you would like at tour of the works). Ask for Chris, myself and several other forumites lurking within!

I'll be back you can be sure, and I'll take up Chumpy's offer too. This time round Mrs Moggy might not have been as fascinated as I would have been with the 'factory tour' ;)

I met a really nice guy over at Specialist Flying School and had a chat with him about the future. He seemed very bullish, and as it has turned out, not without good reason.

Gromit - thanks for the PPR number. I presume it is different from the one appearing in flight guides?
