K135 or B52 help with i.d. - no photo available

Late afternoon of 26 Sept. 2011, a large plane flew east-west over my (northeast) Northants garden, sky was only broken cloud and limited views were gained. I thought this was a B52, but my research suggests a K135 - I am sure it had a forked tail plane, with some fusalage belly projection and the engines did not look upon reflection twin style as the B52 has. I am no expert on these matters! Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's more likely a 135 than a B-52 since 135s routinely operate out of Mildenhall. I don't think you'll get a specific ID unless there was a spotter watching takeoffs, even then, there is no guarentee that's the plane you saw. PS: this really belongs in the Modern Military Forum. The General Aviation is for "general aviation"...i.e. light aircraft and business flying. :)

Certainly B52. Met a guy at the local aerodrome who took a photo. Thanks for help - forum info noted.

It was indeed a B52:D A C130 followed it going the same way not long after!
