http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01bfczz The trailer shows in flight refuelling from a jerry can, I have a feeling that it might confirm a few stereotypes about microlight flyers and sadly not in a good way, gulp. Fingers crossed that the trailer is the worst bit.

Just watched it on iplayer, some hairy flying on that and not just Richard. I felt for young Micheal going over the Irish Sea. Enjoyable.

I watched it - and found it 'interesting' shall we say ;) From a general aviation point of view, it was nice just to see a whole programme dedicated to the subject..... From watching the way these guys fly in some quite remarkable conditions, and in a way that sometimes made me cringe, it was watched with a few raised eyebrows I must say :diablo: The clip of in-flight refuelling was by a chap who has flown some remarkable adventures around the world and I suppose his experience plus many hours in the air meant that he was sure he knew what he was doing (I hope:eek:)

I must admit I wouldn't take my seatbelt off in flight whilst sitting in a little open bathtub as he did for the refuelling. Not a bad way to pass an hour. Moggy

Hairy flying! ( and not just on his face!) I wouldnt be at all surprised if he didnt get called upon by some governing body(CAA?) In light of his aerial capers, however i must say that in todays world of rules and regulations in everything that we do i found it quite refreshing to see this chap with his hodge bodge of piping and his seat belt happily blowing in the breeze! refuelling his machine in mid flight.:)

If Meredith-Hardy with all his experience doesn't know what he is doing - no one does ! John Green

Mr. Beard may feel 100% confident in what he does, but its lunatics who attempt to copy him that scare me. That said, it has reminded me to seek a willing pilot for the Fly UK 2012 social epic this year....

I really enjoyed Propeller Head. I also enjoyed the program very much. I appreciate that some "microlights" are very sophisticated these days but not too sure I'd be happy in one above the clouds..... Strange thing is, in my younger days I'd fly in anything with anyone. As I have grown older I have become more and more risk adverse when it comes to GA.
