No, not discussing the Airbase here, but the German band Ramstein. I've seen them at Werchter, and I must say: god, what a show! Though their music did not interrest me before, the act on the main stage was really superb: flamethrowers, burning guitars ... probably the best performance i've ever seen. BTW, they are no neo-nazi's (Links-zwei-drei-vier :D) Attachments: http://www.keypublishing.com/forum/importedfiles/3d205fd83d4ce3bd.jpg http://www.keypublishing.com/forum/importedfiles/3d205ff33d6ad349.jpg http://www.keypublishing.com/forum/importedfiles/3d205ffb3d7fe049.jpg

RE: Rammstein Never heard of them untill half a year ago. I realy like(d) their clips "Sonne' and "Ich will". It is all sounding a big "dark" and apocoliptic to me, but that's what I like (I was a "The Doors" fan before. In Holland Rammstein is now sometimes used in the newsdocumantaries as background music under newsitems or sport.

RE: Rammstein This might suprise you, but they have a big following down here, it's a pitty they don't come down, their concerts would sell out quicker than Metallica (It took four hours to sell every ticket in the office for their last concert)! I have one of their albums which I bought in Melbourne, Interesting, though not my style either! Live hard, play hard, die happy!

RE: Rammstein Rein .... RAUS .... Rein .... RAUS .... }> Saw them twice now - at the Pinkpop festival, and last sunday at the Gelredome in Arnhem. (For those knowing a bit about Market Garden: yes, our car got stuck in a trafficjam near Elst but we made it on time). Their performance is truely wonderful! Just think of all the most bombastical kitsch you could use to have an over-the-top concert and it's there! Flamethrowers, fireworks, burning guitarplayers and singers (...ein Mensch brennt...), dildos... All so absolutely tasteless it's great. Absolutely hilarious, and very liberating to sing along. Too bad i couldn't take my East German flag to the Arnheim concert, but this way i had a better way to watch the show (the first time i saw Rammstein, i was way too busy waving my flag while drinking and dancing - don't ask me how i did that)... Rammstein Ein Mensch brennt Rammstein Fleischgeruch liegt in der Luft Rammstein ein Kind stirbt Rammstein die Sonne scheint }> Regards, Arthur

RE: Rammstein Uhh... i might have seen you (there were places where they sold waffles, so i guess i could have figured...) but didn't really know what to look for. But perhaps you've seen a big blonde guy with an East German flag? AFAIK, there was only one like that at Pinkpop. Links 2,3,4, Arthur

RE: Rammstein [updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-07-02 AT 06:07 PM (GMT)]Yeah you Aryan ##### :D No, didn't see you. It's strange that this group attracts so many neo-nazi's and skinheads, though I don't find anything racist/fascist in their songs. It's kitsh, fun, somewhat shocking (especially the #####-act if }>). ##### = d*ildo

RE: Rammstein Actually, there were hardly any people i'd think to be far-right militants at the concert last sunday. Plenty of metal-enthusiasts, but the atmosphere was very friendly, happy, merry, joyjoy. Great fun. Within Temptation was the support act, and i don't think skinheads would be all too pleased with those gothic hippies (even though the singer looks great in her wedding dress!). If you want skinheads, you should visit some ska-concert. Not the Skatallites of course (i guess they are too old and too black to represent the average neo-nazi's taste). Regards, Arthür

RE: Rammstein [updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-07-02 AT 06:19 PM (GMT)]Within temptation is also kitsh, nahh, than I'd rather have Rammstein. They were also on Werchter, but the main acts were Bush, Faithless, Chemical Brothers, Red Hot Chili Peppers ... Nice. The atmosphere around Rammstein is really superb. Too bad I was almost smashed by a bunch of enthusiasts. Luckily the red cross could pick me out or now I'd pronably be somewhere in the hospital :D BTW, what was the white stuff coming out of the #####?? I hope it was milk or something. :D

RE: Rammstein Agree with Rammstein beating WT - no matter how high the dame in the wedding dress can sing, by no means it will stand up against flamethrowers }> The stuff sprayed around during the Bück Dich-act was indeed white, but i wasn't standing close enough to find out what exactly. Probably just water with some dye in it. Werchter should have been nice this year, but a lot of the bands were the same as on Pinkpop. I would have liked to see dEUS and the Red Hot Chili Peppers though. I'm curious how long it will take before Rammstein-clones start emerging. Names like Bittburg and Semmbach come to mind :D Or perhaps you and Frank could start Bierrset? Regards, Arthur

RE: Rammstein [updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-07-02 AT 10:42 PM (GMT)]I think he says "du hast nicht" what means "you have nothing" (i've been studying "deustch" for 1 year)... Well, I'm from Brazil and I do know Rammstein since 2000... well I kinda like their songs although I prefer heavier music than that so that wouldnt be a so big surprise once I really like metal (have you ever heard about Sepultura or Soulfly? Great Brazilian metal bands) and I know lots of bands from many countries... in fact, Primer55 is an american metal band :)

RE: Rammstein Fun lyrics! Du... Du hasst... Du hasst mich... Du hast mich gefragt... Du hast mich gefragt... Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab' nichts gesagt Translation: You... you hate... you hate me... At least, that's what it sounds like. But the verb 'Hassen' (=to hate) and Haben (=to have) in 2nd person single, sound alike. Only when the next line comes along it gets clear: You have asked me... You have asked me... You have asked me and i said nothing Primer55, you should bring the lyrics for Weisses Fleisch or Bück Dich for you German class. I guarantee you a massive success! Regards, Arthur

RE: Thanks Arthur Yes, my favourite band. I remember when Sonne came out last year (is it?) - the video was just, more interesting than others. Everyone always says that they are the best live band they have seen. The band members are quite old chaps though aren't they?
