Can anyone help me locate the Airtime Publishing website? I'm trying to order the F-4 Phantom: Spirit in the Skies book (which is supposed to be really good) and I can't find their website. I have their phone number and everything, I just wanted to see what info their website has. The book was originally copyrighted back in 1992, but I called recently to order it and she said the new version would be out sometime this month (July). A good updated book on the Phantom would be a nice thing for me to have. I'm also considering ordering this CD-ROM reference thingy about the F-4, but I'm not sure if it's any good or not. It isn't produced by Airtime, but by someone else (who has also done an F-16 CD-ROM). Anyone know anything about this CD-ROM and/or the Airtime website? Is Airtime the company that does World Air Power Journal?

PhantomII, Hi. http://www.airtimepublishing.com But don't bother, they are still building it, and all you will get there is COMING SOON! They have been building the site now for well over a year, if not more. Talk about slow. Last I heard from them was that they still had a few copies of the original Spirit of the Skies left but that was months ago. >The book was originally copyrighted back in 1992, but I >called recently to order it and she said the new version >would be out sometime this month (July). A good updated book >on the Phantom would be a nice thing for me to have. A new version? Well that might be worth waiting for then. >I'm also considering ordering this CD-ROM reference thingy >about the F-4, but I'm not sure if it's any good or not. It >isn't produced by Airtime, but by someone else (who has also >done an F-16 CD-ROM). CD-ROM references depend on content and the Authors, price usually reflects what you get. I have some from American MPC Research and they are not bad but only have basic data, although the MPEG video footage is handy, as well as the galleries. >Is Airtime the company that does World Air Power Journal? Now they are yes. Aerospace Publishing no longer print them, and as far as I know AIRtime still have quite a few back copies of WAPJ and WOF (Wings of Fame). Interestingly, They have just introduced the quarterly payment option for INTERNATIONAL AIR POWER REVIEW JOURNAL, which means you get charged as they send them to you. Aerospace Publishing did the same about a year or so before the collapse of the WAPJ and WOF series. Omenous signs perhaps? I hope not. Regards, Glenn.

RE: Airtime Publishing This CD I've looked into is about 20 U.S. dollars. I suppose I'm just looking for good pictures and movies. I know enough about the F-4 anyway. :) Well I don't know enough....you can never learn enough about the F-4, but you get my drift. I just wish I could get info on this new book. I had planned on buying that book earlier in the year. I'm glad that I put it off so now I will get the new edition. Have you ever seen the book? Do you know anyone who has? Is it a really good one?

RE: Airtime Publishing PII, I have written about AIRtime publishing and their new books at www.acig.org in the Air Combat Bar under the "New Book Releases" thread. http://www.acig.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=936&forum=9&1 As for the AIRtime publishing website, I have also written about it at www.acig.org in the Air Combat Bar under the "Good website for buying military books?" thread. http://www.acig.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=751&forum=9&3 I bought the McDonnel F-4 Phantom: Spirit in the Skies when it came out and I was not that impressed with it due to technical reasons. Most of the information is prior published "cut and paste" with dubious claims. Other than that it is a good database which includes a comprehensive guide to the F-4 and its service record. It has also been edited by Jon Lake who has been associated with a number of good books. Here is a link to my discussion with Tom at www.acig.org in World Air Forces/Air Arms under the "Iran IRIAF - Equipment Discussions" thread on a claim I read in the book about the Iranians using British Spey engines on IRIAF Phantoms. http://www.acig.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?mode=viewtopic&topic=83&forum=6… Sam.

RE: Airtime Publishing Thanks for the help guys. Well, Sam, to be honest I expected some of the cut and paste stuff (typcial of most military aviation books) so it won't bother me. I've heard that there some other good stuff in there though so I plan on buying the new edition. Dazza, that'a great picture! Also, that is the website where I saw the CD on. I am trying to decide whether to buy it or not. What do you think? Does it have good pictures and movies?

RE: Airtime Publishing I've not seen the CD Rom so I can't commment on its quality, but judging by the quality of the free samples I'd say it was a safe bet. Regards, Dazza.

RE: Airtime Publishing Hi Phantom, You might try checking one of the rare-book search engines. Here are two of the best I know of: http://www.abebooks.com/ http://www.bookfinder.com/ Georgii If you want information send a spy. If you want good information send a modeler.
