Hi All,

Hostel

The origin of phrase "torture porn", Hostel is about three backpackers going on a sex, drugs and booze-filled journey around Europe, only to have their plans go slightly awry when they meet a stranger who promises to make their trip REALLY unforgettable.

Problem is, for me, the film is largely forgettable! Sure, it's gory, but it's got ******-all storyline apart from a few basic setups to increase your dread at what horrors will be coming next.

I remember the hype about it at the time, but gave it a miss for years. I can see why now!

Tommy's Honour is a 2016 historical drama film depicting the lives and careers of, and the complex relationship between, the pioneering Scottish golfing

Hi All,
Professor Marston and the Wonder Women 2017 (Via SKY Cinema) I downloaded this thinking it would be interesting background story behind the
creation of the Wonder Woman franchise (The film which I intend to watch next)

I never expected as it turns out that the most famous female super hero character actually got her start from a professor, his wife and they're lover who
all lived together during a fantasy that he and they got into that gave him the idea of the Super Hero character, incidentally they are also credited with
inventing the polygraph machine.

I enjoyed the film as it was the right balance that showed the relationship both good and bad between all three that eventually lead up to the creation of
Wonder Woman. Just a good drama all told but I will say not for everybody......;)

Starring:- Luke Evans,Rebecca Hall,Bella Heathcote,Monica Giordano,JJ Feild,Chris Conroy,Oliver Platt,Christopher Paul Richards and Connie Britton.

Flight of the Intruder

Top Gun, Vietnam style, as a disillusioned A-6 Intruder pilot decides he has had enough of bombing worthless targets and goes for a big one in the middle of downtown Hanoi.

The Deep

Nick Nolte and Jacqueline Bisset stumble onto the possible find of a lifetime while on holiday in Bermuda, and enlist the help of local treasure hunter Robert Shaw to go find it. Meanwhile, drug dealer Louis Gosset Jr. harasses them after they unearth a stash of morphine on the sunken shipwreck.

Underrated classic, this one, I think.

Hi All,
DazDaMan - Two classic films IMHO, FOTI I think represents how many US pilots felt like an updated phony war prior to all out hostilities with
politics getting in the way of getting the job done, TD Nick Nolty,Robert Shaw,Jacqueline Bisset and Louis Gosset Jnr at they're best....;)

Wonder Woman 2017 (Via SKY Cinema) I really enjoyed this Fantasy/Sci-Fi although not a big fan even of the Linda Carter version (Yes I did watch
the Tv series :dev2:) Only two gripes really most of the CGI was good but a couple of times they dropped the ball.

Also although Gal Gadot hit the mark spot on. One question:- Why did they not employ young French girl actress as the younger wonder woman growing
from toddler to woman ? I say this only because you have to be tone deaf not to hear Gal Godet's strong French accent, the child actor who played the
young wonder woman had clearly had English as her 1st language.....

Starring:-Gal Gadot,Chris Pine,Robin Wright,Danny Huston,David Thewlis,Connie Nielsen,Elena Anaya,Lucy Davis,Saïd Taghmaoui,Ewen Bremner,
Eugene Brave Rock,Lisa Loven Kongsli,Mayling Ng,Florence Kasumba,Madeleine Vall Beijner,Hayley Jane Warnes,Ann Wolfe,James Cosmo,Steffan Rhodri,
Doutzen Kroes,Samantha Jo and a cameo by Zack Snyder.

Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that's raging in the outside world. Convinced that she
can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true
destiny.

Hi All,
Imperium 2016 (Via BBCi Available until 4th Sept) ( WARNING - Not to everyone's taste ) I was expecting a bit more from the film as
being based on fact I imagined it would show both the good and bad facts not just glimmers leaving the viewer to they're imagination. The film never
really shows the true nature and violence that go hand in hand at times with extreme far right groups and they're ideology, Apart from that gripe not a
bad drama all told, the film gets you into the undercover operation that Daniel Radcliffe's character gets involved with......:eagerness:

Starring:-Daniel Radcliffe,Toni Collette,Tracy Letts,Sam Trammell,Nestor Carbonell,Roger Yawson,Devin Druid,Pawel Szajda,Chris Sullivan,Burn Gorman,
Seth Numrich,Jasson Finney,Maboud Ebrahimzadeh,David Aranovich,Paul H. Chapman,Rodney Roldan,Bobby Parker Jr.,Morgan Applegate and
Shawn Singletary.

Nate Foster is a young and inexperienced FBI agent. When a major terrorist plot is uncovered, he must go deep undercover to infiltrate the gang of white supremacists responsible.

Hi All,
hampden98 - How did you watch the film ? I have been waiting for that particular film to air on SKY Cinema ever since it came out but have not
seen it available other than the store.

Free State Of Jones 2016 (Via BBCi Available until 28/08) Although not considered a box office hit because it barely made half the budget spent
on it's making, I really enjoyed this historical drama based on the true story of Newton Knight who led a rebellion against the confederates, the film
includes flashes of his Great Grandson who has problems of his own in 1948 trying to marry his long term girlfriend because of his mixed race ancestry.......

Starring:-Matthew McConaughey,Gugu Mbatha-Raw,Keri Russell,Mahershala Ali,Brian Lee Franklin,Jacob Lofland,Bill Tangradi,Sean Bridgers,Kirk Bovill,
Christopher Berry,Donald Watkins,Artrial Clark,Manny Penton and Wayne Pére.

In 1863, Mississippi farmer Newt Knight serves as a medic for the Confederate Army. Opposed to slavery, Knight would rather help the wounded than fight
the Union. After his nephew dies in battle, Newt returns home to Jones County to safeguard his family but is soon branded an outlaw deserter. Forced to
flee, he finds refuge with a group of runaway slaves hiding out in the swamps. Forging an alliance with the slaves and other farmers, Knight leads a
rebellion that would forever change history.

Two Brothers

Jean-Jacques Annaud's tale of two tiger cubs separated and then reunited as a result of man's greed and desire to be master of all nature is still fantastic to watch.

Hi All,
Bill 2015 (Via BBCi Available until 22/08) Quite amusing film that at times is very pythonesque IMPO, along with a couple of rather famous actor cameos it is mainly the talents of the group of actors behind children's TV series Horrible Histories and Yonderland. I like this type of theatre with the same actors playing different characters with a few modern references and a few funny end credit scenes relating to the film...:D

Starring:-Mathew Baynton,Martha Howe-Douglas,Ben Willbond,Simon Farnaby,Jim Howick,Laurence Rickard,Helen McCrory,Rufus Jones,Justin Edwards,
Damian Lewis,David Crow,John Henry Falle,Jamie Demetriou and Richard Atwill.

Bill is set during Shakespeare's "lost years"—the crucial period, long a mystery to scholars, covering his rise from obscurity in Stratford-upon-Avon to
fame as a playwright in London. According to the official synopsis, the film will tell the "real story" of what happens when "hopeless lute player
Bill Shakespeare leaves his family and home to follow his dream. It’s a tale of murderous kings, spies, lost loves, and a plot to blow up Queen Elizabeth I."
Writer Rickard further explained that this "very different" version of the future Bard has already tried "everything from contemporary dance to playing lute
in a band. He's never found his calling.

Hot Shots

Charlie Sheen's first outing as war hero Topper Harley, a man on the edge who is assigned to take part in a seemingly suicidal bombing raid in Iraq. Top notch mickey-take of Top Gun. Great fun.

Hot Shots - Part Deux

Charlie Sheen returns as Topper Harley, this time leading a rescue mission in Iraq. Great send-up of the Rambo series.

Hi All,
hampden98 - Stunned by that matey still it's just like SKY Cinema all over not to have crackers play like Turner. I imagine it's down to they're
algorithms ? Imean the films they advertised as the most popular for instance and Returning favourites are full of low budget stuff with a sprinkling of
noticeable hits.

Films I would really like to see are Child 42/Arrival/Legend as examples but they have not had a sniff at being shown in the premier section only available
in the SKY Store. I refuse to pay extra to watch a film when you already pay a monthly subscription to that channel. I suppose they have your arm up
your back to a certain degree but I can see why some are drifting away using other streaming services or scouring charity shops.

To be honest I would be streaming elsewhere but as I am housebound with agoraphobia the money I save Not going out/No holidays etc.etc. lets me have
SKY so really it balances itself out but it is very frustrating that SKY do not stream all the popular releases through the premier section.

The Meg

Jason Statham takes on a giant, prehistoric shark that's emerged from the Mariana Trench.

Yep, it's as simple as that. Big, dumb fun. Only criticism is it could have been a bit gorier!
