It's true. It seems that for some people their life isn't complete unless the room they are in has a television flickering away, often largely ignored in some corner or other.

We own one set. It is hidden away in a chimney alcove, and turned on (Never before about 7.15pm - except wet weekends) for specific programmes, then turned off again.

But we all get our enjoyment in different ways, so I guess if repeat second rate dramas, 'celebrity' programmes or (god preserve us) breakfast television is their thing, who am I to carp?

TV is no sadder than frittering away ones life on a trivial internet forum?
