Hi, I am a huge fan of the James Bond films, and was wondering if anyone else is...?

1. What is your favourite James Bond film overall?
2. What is your least favourite James Bond film overall?
3. What is your favourite scene from that film?
4. Who is your favourite James Bond actor?
5. If you could date any of the bond girls, which would you most like to date?

My answers to the above questions:

1. Goldeneye
2. For Your Eyes Only
3. Goldeneye - when Bond gets his revenge on Traveleyn and drops him from the satalite dish...(how could he of survived a fall like that?)
4. Pierce Brosnan
5. Dr Christmas Jones (played by Denise Richards)

...and finally I would like to know about your opinions on the new film, due for release in November...

At first I was dead set against it because they have decided to remake 'Casino Royale' into a proper Bond film, however, since they announced that Daniel Craig would be playing as 007, I have actually changed my opinion - I can't wait to see it. :D

What do you think?

1. Too many good ones to pick just one!
2. The one with Yaphett Kotto. Just struck me as less than stellar.
3. The scene where Zhukovskiy walks into the room at the end of TWINE is pretty good: "I'm looking for a submarine. It's big, black, and the captain is a very good friend of mine."
4. Sean Connery, followed very closely by Pierce Brosnan
5. Can't argue with your answer in the least :D

1. Like SOC, too many good ones to select one but I would have to say Goldeneye edges ahead ever so slightly.
2.Never Say Never Again. Even though it was Mr Connery in the title role, it just wasn't the same.
3.In Goldeneye, the chase through the streets of St Petersburg as Bond drives what looks like a T64 trying to catch up to a limousine carrying his love interest.
4.Just like SOC, Sir Sean Connery closely followed by Pierce Brosnan.
5.I do agree with Denise Richard although Sophie Marceau has to be a close second! :)

Ok my offerings...
1. Can't single one out really
2. The latest one - I was fine until the ending with all the CGI stuff - killed it for me.
3. I do like Zhukovsky - IIRC he asks "Can't you just knock like everyone else?"
4. Pierce Brosnan
5. Any really. I admit I quite liked the Anya Ontatop character...

Irwan - the Never Say Never Again film was not an "official" Bond film.
It happened because Sean Connery brought the rights to the story and remade it IIRC.

And the books are brilliant.

You do know Onatop was a trained killer, between the sheets - strangulation from her thighs...:p

Unfortunatley I have not had the pleasure of reading any of the proper books by Ian Fleming, however, I have read the ones which have been published to coincide with the last few films - they follow em quite well...

Are there any major differences between the I.F books and the films that were made?

I do know about her character yes. (I have all the films on original video).

The books are quite different.

Compared to the films often just the title, one or two of the major characters and the very basic plot/one or two bits match.

For example "View To A Kill" is a short story in one of the books and the connection is the sniping incident to the movie. The story has Bond in a tree IIRC (been a while since I read them - but I have them too at home - original paperbacks from the 60's - not important editions mind)

Well, the best character has to be the fat southern Sheriff from the 1970's Bond films. "God dammit bwooy!" (spit) Sheriff G W Pepper

1.) Probably "The man with the golden gun". When the Sheriff, on holiday in Thailand, sees Bond & stops chewing his Tobacco & says things like "you walk lak a goony bird" "you damn pointy heads" (referring to the locals) & "hey, you that English secret agent fella !" "who we after?" & "Go get 'em bwooy!".
Classic.

1. GoldenEye
2. The last one - Die Another Day? The one with Halle Berry in it, anyway!
3. The tank chase
4. Tough call, either Brosnan or Connery
5. Michelle Yeogh, from The World is Not Enough. Hell, if you got into a barfight, she could kick some ass for you! :D

3. Can't remember, although Shirley Eaton painted gold and lying naked on a bed takes some beating!
4. Sean Connery
5. Rosamund Pike (she's the wallpaper on my PC!) Mmmmmm!

Have just seen this on a website...

Brosnan shaken and stirred about losing bond:

That's how Pierce Brosnan recalls reacting to the phone call telling him that he was being dumped as James Bond after having made four wildly successful films for the 007 empire - reports The Star. "God, it was a shock," he begins, "One was very perplexed by such a decision. Then came anger. Yes, a whole bloody ****load of anger." He slams his hand on the table, startling everyone around him on the glitterati filled terrace of the Intercontinental Hotel during the height of the Toronto International Film Festival. "You ask yourself how they could treat you like that after all you've done for them." His blue eyes are frostier than the glass of ice water he sips to calms himself down...

I thought he made the decision to leave, he retired from the role because he said he had enough...or am I missing something here! Its a shame, as he was the best actor of em all!

I expect a multitude of compliants from Connery diehards now...lol. :D
