The I-16 arrived for Flying Legends in the company of a rather nice looking Yak-50.

Great pics as always, Brian. That I-16 looks great - if a little scary!

You won't have seen the ones painted up as FW-190s recently then? :p

There was a gaggle of them at Camarillo last year. The *airshow* basically consists of straight & level fly pasts.. for HOURS & the circuit was so long we'd have 2 or 3 come past, then a 3 minute wait, then 2 more....then a wait, then the first 3... They did this for about 30 minutes..
The only action during the entire day was Clay bouncing a B25 with the F7F but that only took a few seconds... I've seen enough yaks to last a lifetime :(

I was meaning the ones painted up in German markings for some shoddy Russian war film recently, but that'll just about do it! :p

The one above it invokes odd reactions aswel, one hand one thinks it is great that these rare machines have been recreated and shown at great effort, but the overwhelming thought is - what a doozie!

This one (taken at MAKS 05) looks a little better.....

I think it's meant to look like a La-5 - it is certainly a bit shorter than RA-3218K.

(I am assuming that it is a Yak ????)

modern aircraft at FL

As interesting as the Yak 50 variants are I hope this is not the way Flying Legends is going with regards to its future participants.
